General Notices:
Full road closures on West Vineyard Street in Wailuku, between Church and High streets, will occur from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
During the road closures on West Vineyard Street, traffic will be detoured around the construction area. The street will remain open to “local traffic” only and emergency vehicles. Traffic control will also be in place to help ensure safety for pedestrians and motorists. At the end of each shift, all traffic control and detours will be broken down and the road opened to the public during non-working hours. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and consider using alternate routes during road closures. Refer to Road Detour Map below.
The Wailuku Parking lot is now completely closed. Wells Park Parking Lot is available, as well as free shuttle service on Da Bee (includes parking at Maui Lani Safeway and various “flower” stops in Wailuku). Click here for a full list of parking locations in Wailuku.
Wailuku Town improvements will be implemented in phases to minimize the impact on local residents and commuter traffic.
Phase 1A will focus on the infrastructure improvements on Vineyard and Church Streets and Wells Park. Phase 1B will include access road improvements and construction of the new Parking Structure. Phase 2 will focus on the proposed Civic Complex.
As with any challenge, construction can be stressful, but it can also be an opportunity for everyone to work together to realize a bright future for Wailuku Town.
